Flight Information

Beginning January 1, 2007, all US Citizens and foreign nationals will be required to carry a valid passport (Social security cards, voter registration cards, or any similar type of identification are no longer proof of citizenship). Passengers without a valid passport will not be permitted to board the flight. This is a governmental security requirement.MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Items normally considered as carry-on baggage are limited to one piece per passenger, and must be checked-in due to restrictions in the size of the aircraft cabin.
  • Dress is very casual in the “ Family” Islands.
  • Large, hard-sided bags are difficult to handle in our aircraft. If possible, please carry soft-type bags.
  • If you are a diver, please note that tanks and weights are available at resort locations. Bring only personal gear.
  • Departing passengers arriving by commercial airlines in Fort Lauderdale should proceed to Terminal 4. Island Express is located on the lower level Terminal 4 next to Customs Border Patrol (US Customs).
  • Passengers must check in one hour prior to departure time.
  • All reservations are subject to cancellation 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.

PAYMENT / CANCELLATION POLICY
Tickets are non-refundable and are valid for a period of six (6) months from date of issue. For passengers who fail to show for their flight, their tickets will remain valid for the six month period with payment of a no-show penalty of $100.00. Flight reservations may be changed during their validity period for a fee of $50.00 providing arrangements are made 24 hours prior to the original scheduled departure date. Most major credit cards are accepted.

BAGGAGE RESTRICTIONS

  • Luggage: Weight restriction: Each passenger is allowed 40 pounds of luggage, including checked baggage, “carry-on” baggage and personal items. A charge of $1.00 per pound will be assessed for weights between 41-60 pounds. Items exceeding 60 pounds will not be accepted for carriage.
  • Volume restriction: Each passenger is allowed one piece measuring up to 62 inches (L x W x H). Items exceeding 62 inches and up to 80 inches will be assessed a charge of $35.00. Items exceeding 30 inches in length, height or width cannot be accepted for carriage due to cabin size restrictions. Those traveling in a group may “average” their weight. We will not accept under any circumstances any items that will exceed the baggage capacity for our planes.
  • Fishing and Diving Gear: These items are permitted and will be included with your baggage weight. Fishing poles need to be 4 feet or less after being broken down. Any fishing poles longer than 4 feet will be charged $15 each way.
  • Surfboards: Passengers may take a surfboard up to 6 feet long at an additional charge of $50.00 each way, space permitting. Multiple surfboards may not be able to travel on the same flight.
  • Hazardous Materials: No hazardous materials are allowed on Island Express flights. For questions on what items could be considered hazardous material, please contact our office or please check www.faa.gov or www.tsa.gov
